Busch Funeral and Crematory Services attended the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging Health Expo on October 10, 2012. The Area Agency is responsible for planning, coordinating and administering state and federal funded programs and services for older adults. It is one of twelve regional area agencies on aging designated by the Ohio Department of Aging as authorized by the federal Older Americans Act. At the expose participants enjoyed a free breakfast and bingo which was sponsored by nationwide HealthCare. They experienced new apartment living lifestyle by participating in a chair activity facilitated by Independence Place. Metrohealth Long Term Care presented tips for proper nutrition and Go4Life Health & Exercise Program offered exercises motivational tips, and free program materials. There was also a live cooking demonstration where they learned and sampled healthy soup recipes that combat the flu. The Ohio Attorney Office also presented on how you can protect yourself from fraud.
Over 50 vendors which included Busch Funeral and Crematory Services, care companies, hospices, pharmacies, Medicare, and health and senior resources attended the event. The mission of the event was to provide seniors with resources for the coming flu season.
